I can't get through. Does this mean that slashdot has slashdotted itself?

Um. I think that people asking other people to marry them by having it put up on the scoreboard at half time at football matches is romantic. Does that make me sad too? Or is that more acceptable?

It was kind of sweet really. Wasn't it? Or am I just in an exceptionally warm and friendly mood?

I mean yes, proposing marriage on slashdot is pretty sad. But it's not plumbing new depths of sadness.

It reminded me of this edition of Penny Arcade (http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php3?date=1999-02-17&res=l), which was similar in theme but far more touchingly rendered.
