I don't fucking believe it! ITV Digital took money out of my account today!

OK, it's only 14 quid but to take my monthly subscription after shutting down the service seems a trifle cheeky.

Five minutes later: The nice lady from smile has undone the direct debit. I strongly advise anyone else who paid for ITV Digital by DD to phone up their bank...

Well I have done now. I just had this crazy idea that a company in receivership couldn't do direct debits. Obviously not...

Thanks for the warning. My DD would have gone out on 8th, like you I believed the line that they wouldn't be taking any more DD's. BTW are you receiving the free to view channels that ITV digital customers are supposed to get? We're not getting any and I wondered if there was anything we could do to get them.

Yes, for the time being. Note that their info pages (which I'm assuming you're not getting) state that they will be giving refunds to any subscribers with outstanding service left.
