I'd probably want some money for the laptop, but the camera's free.

It has one read-only CD drive. Maybe 12x, maybe 24x. Dunno.

Does it have an ethernet port (or a slot I could plug one into) and is the screen still usable for, eg, word processing when it's gone purply, or is it unreadable?

No ethernet. It has 2xPCMCIA slots, one of which contains a 56k modem. The screen is still readable, and if you can remap colours well in your OS you're fine, since it's only about #F8F8F8 and higher that go purple, so #F0F0F0 would be fine.

Oh, and it would have to be provided brain-dead, as it has broken Win98 and broken Mandrake on it ATM.
