Off work today; too ill (as anyone who's heard me coughing this week will testify.

I've avoided getting a credit card up til now. But I think I'm going to need one in order to rent a car when me and Trish go to Avignon. So, all you enhanced-credit-people:

* How long does it take to get one? Where do I go?
* What's a good one to get if you're not actually planning on using it (so APR doesn't matter)?

Yes, I know I probably sound very ignorant.

No, I really am not going to use it. Some of us have willpower, you know ;)

Ah, so this means you prob won't be at the LL? H has BiCon past photos for you. Maybe Trish could pass them on to you?

As for credit cards - that's what I said and look at me now. Erm, as for which one maybe ones with free travel insurance might be worth looking at like a Barkley card. I use HSBC because you can set it up to automatically pay off the full balance each month, so no intrest.

you cheeky bugger...

And some of us have better things to do than provide you with well-researched financial advice, Mr. M. ;o)

Simon - the world is *crawling* with credit cards. Do your own interest-comparing spadework, please...

P.S. In good mood; just taking piss; bye then. *wave*

Although if you're looking for some halfway useful comments I would just point out that if you're planning to pay the balance off in full each month then the only thing that matters is that you get a card without an annual fee. That's it, I reckon. And there are hundreds of those.

IMHO

My ghod, how do you avoid having a doormat full of letters from people - erm machines - begging you to have their credit card??

Any financial section will have a list of good buys.
