So this thing with Prince Charles? I thought I'd briefly amuse myself by reading all about it on an uncensored foreign news site. And can I find anything about it? Can I fuck. I'm sending the internet back - I want a new one.

Apparently at least one Italian newspaper didn't put it on their website because of the british legal action. Odd.

The allegation, by an ex-servant called George Smith, is that he delivered Charles' breakfast and found him in bed with another servant, Michael Fawcett. Charles and Michael deny this, and Fawcett tried to block publication on the grounds that it's libellous.

I'm in Scotland. I don't think there's any injunction up here.

I pieced it together (apart from Fawcett's name) a couple of days ago from comments in two or three places. It was bound to come out eventually.

Fuck, is that bloody all? I thought it had summat to do with the fisting incident, which appeared briefly what, last year?

If Charles is Bi, he can only go up in my estimation. Of course, to most royalists the fact that he is a "bloody poofda" will likely spell the end of the monarchy ...

Once Fawcett's name was outed, it wasn't hard to work out which of the two possible candidates for 'senior royal' it was.

I can sort of see why the injuction was granted. If they both deny it, and it's just Smith's word against them, they'd be bound to win the libel action.

Yes, that's all.

There was also an allegation that they'd hushed up a rape (of a servant by a servant) - this would be actually quite serious, if true, but of course it isn't what the tabloids are going to focus on.

Anyway . . . fisting incident? I don't remember that.

Yes. Still, as long as I think they're getting the same treatment any ordinary person (who's rich enough to go messing around with libel law) would get, I'm happy on that front. Of course, if the media didn't go ape every time there was a Royal Interest story, I'd be happier yet, but there you go.

Cup of tea, anyone?

Really? I thought they'd had to calm that sort of thing down. Where are they based, anyway?

Well, it's well known that Di didn't like Fawcett - complained in letters to friends that 'Charles tells Fawcett things he won't talk to me about' and so on.
