You know how supermarkets blow bread-smelling air at you to make you buy bread? And coffee shops do the same with coffee? And that cafe in Old Street tube does the same with really minging bacon?

Every time I walk past Expectations I can smell rubber.

And as doop wondered the other week - why are there so many instances of Lush shops with a The Cheese Shop shop next door or a couple of doors down?

Yeah, they seem to do that, particularly in stations. My brain gets confused and goes 'Soap! Cheese! Soap! Cheese!'. Sooner or later you'll see me walking through Liverpool Street foaming at the mouth.

I used to work for BOC and while I was there they'd just launched a range of smells for shops etc. One of the smells they manufactured was leather, for car showrooms. Or other establishments perhaps...

I doubt Expectations have to make any effort to accomplish this - there's so much rubber in that place it happens without the aid of fans. I love the smell in there - it really hits you at the top of the stairs. Mmmm rubber....

Ooooh! Want!

I'd love to smell of warm leather all day.
