Remind me to tell you about the auction channel I found that was successfully auctioning off similar goods at similar prices (and presumably to a similar customer base). At 3am.
Ah, those happy days of QVC, where it seemed that there was no item on this clean Earth that could not be replicated, reproduced, bowdlerised, discounted, sealed in lucite or made available for one hour only. Pity the poor dear lured by the sparkly, sparkly charms of the diamonique bracelet into calling in. Expecting a brief credit card transaction, she is caught in the headlights of the presenters' desparation and forced to explain at length just how much she loves the feel of 9 carat gold, how her life will be changed and just what she plans to do with her redeeming bangle. Wear it, she offers weakly. The studio behaves as if this idea is the Second Coming. With marshmallows.
A search for "Cha Cha Cohen" will turn up the same sparkly treats, but probably to a less appreciative audience. I do wish there was a handy term which wasn't related somehow to travelling people, however - time for a revival of "serf"?
