Some photos from my trip to NYC

I was experimenting with daylight long exposures while there, both ~30 second ones with a neutral density filter, like this and this, and ~1 second ones without, like this. I don't know if they're successful or not but I quite like them. Probably could have done better with more time and a tripod, but I think webcowgirl would have rebelled, quite justifiably...

You might notice that the photo gallery is new, in time I'll move the old photos across as well. Unfortunately the old one was very tied to F-Spot, which I'm not using any more. But I think the new one is nicer. You can leave comments! And you can still search by tags, although all the pictures that are uploaded ATM just have "nyc" as a tag.

Excellent photos.

I also like the look of Zenphoto, and am trying to install it on my server. They're not exactly keen on giving you detailed instructions on trivia like what file permissions to set, are they? ;-)

I had to chown everything www-data (on Debian); I think Zenphoto expects to be able to move its own files around. Hmm.

Yes, this. And the Chief Developers in the forums seem to get positively snotty if anyone suggests this is less than a good idea. Still, I think I've locked it down to only a few folders needed to be owned by the web server.

Which airline did you use to fly there and back to NYC? Mat and I are going Stateside next year and are looking for recommendations......

Thanks! I flew on Delta, and when I flew out for work a few weeks ago flew Continental there and United back. Delta > United > Continental but from what I hear any UK airline will pretty much beat them...
