you can still get to Cambridge (and thence to Newmarket or wherever the nearest station to Hannah's is) on the Liverpool St line. takes slightly longer (like about an hour and a half).
Now having to rethink plans for getting to London this weekend. shit.
Fucking hell. As kboyd points out, you can still get to Cambridge via Liverpool Street, but it's hardly comforting to have that happen so close to Hatfield. Quality bit of track, that, clearly.
Oh well. Statisticaly speaking, train travel is presumably still way safer than, say taking a motorbike up and down the M11 every day.
