[I've had a wonderful weekend up to this point, but now I'm pissed off.]

I just bought a fan. I thought a rainy day would be good, as last time I tried to buy a fan it was really hot and no bugger had any. And I've already broken it!

Needless to say, it's a techno fan - a 15cm wide column with a control panel on top. The control panel has a flip up cover - or had, until I snapped it off. So do I take it back to the shop and lie to them, or do I try to fix it?

Well, the few of designs you see generally on wallpaper are among his most ornate, and were never intended to cover walls (except in a couple of rare cases as tapestries). Most of them were originally fabric designs.

Besides, his typefaces and woodcut book illustrations are fabulous.
I can see it mightn't to be your taste, though, cyber-kiddy ;->

There was a good exhibition on him a few years ago at the V&A. And of course his pub in Merton is one of my favourites.

You'd only have broken it later. Does it still work? Did you buy it as an ornament or as a fan?
