My religion doesn't allow me to buy Microsoft products, so that was a no-brainer. I was tempted by a GC though, but once I heard that Super Mario Sunshine wasn't as good as 64, the shine (sorry) kinda went out of it for me...
Haha... Okay... Fair enough with the no Microsoft stuff...
The Gamecube doesnt do it for me either... my sister has a succession of Nintendo's that havent been any good since the original nintendo... Or maybe the Super Famicom with Disk Doctor.
Hummm
Oh well
Still deciding then... Xbox Live does sorely tempt.
Quite for Linux boxes... after all, if its an P3-733 in it, I have faster in my PC.
As to the cheaper - yeah - you can get an x-box with 4 games for 200 less staff discount.
But that is a surprise with the memory cards - I take it there just is Sony only - no one tried to make em??
I do like the built in HD with the x-box too...
Makes loading times ALOT quicker on repeat plays, and just silly amounts of normal HD space.
However it is quite clicky and the machine as a whole is quite loud n big.
I dunno...
Been going through the games, there is a greater %age of x-box games I want...
However, there is a greater number of games on the PS2. In particular driving games... Humm... And Grand Theft Auto Vice City (but I could get that for the PC).
Hee hee, bought Naomi a Game Cube for Xmas, we are all playing Eternal Darkness and going insane trying to kill the giant spider in the basement! Have already resorted to walkthrough which advises us to kill it. Very droll.

I am wondering whether to get an X-box or a Ps2...
I liked the X-box, but there are so many cool games on the PS2.
Did you evaluate both? Or just knew you were going with the PS2??

Date: 2002-12-30 03:33 am (UTC)PS2 good points: it has, and will continue to have, far more games.
The solution? Play with someone else's...
Re: argh
Date: 2002-12-30 01:30 pm (UTC)God knows why you would want to.
Well - Still not decided anywayz, could be a PS2...
If it wasnt for the fact that to get a decent "starter pack" it will cost about 300 beer tokens.
And then there is the games I wanna get too :-)
hehehe
Re: argh
Date: 2002-12-30 02:21 pm (UTC)Quite. I'm sitting in front of a perfectly nice Linux box right now - why would I want one under my TV?

Is XBox cheaper?
I have to admit to being pissed off that you can't buy third party PS2 memory cards - you have to buy Sony ones which cost nearly 30 quid! Fuckers.

Humm...
Heh...
I am wavering...
Must just do some research to see if Sony has any equivalent to X-box Live going on...
But I think the sony might have it...
