Cerys Catatonia sang "Every day, when I wake up, I thank the lord I'm Welsh".
Well, I'm not Welsh, but I wake up thankful I'm
(Variations on my last bullet point are too easy and do not count. So ner.)

I thank the ******* I'm:
Date: 2007-06-14 01:11 pm (UTC)* British Asian
* Foodie
* Living in a country with a half-decent welfare system. It's ancient, complicated and stressful and could be about 300% better, but it at least exists in a form that is vaguely workable.
* Time-rich (would like to be a little less cash-poor, but I've done the opposite and I'm damn glad that I'm on this side of the fence!)
* As others say above re living in the incredibly priveliged corner of the world.
* Living in Brighton, particuarly as now seems to be a potentially really exciting time to be here for various reasons
* Going back to berlin in July
* Surrounded by support and love.

Date: 2007-06-14 01:23 pm (UTC)* of a mixed class background (which is in my head is somewhat, but not totally analagous to someone being mixed-race, or my British Asianness. Basically, I mean, coming from/having lived in a number of differntly-accented spaces, in terms of class.)
