We use Outlook Express. This is where I normally get emails from Jenny through the clique mailing list. However, this evening I got one from her, on my hotmail account, which seemed to be directed at someone else. My hotmail account is now unreacheable. Do you think that's connected?
So did you get an email from her with a virus? I've emailed her via cliquemail and mentioned that she may have one.
Yes, and so did you. Hopefully if it arrived via hotmail rather than Outlook Express (the express bit doesn't make much difference in terms of virus transmission) you might be all right but I can't guarantee it.
If this is a new virus (which it may well be) then hotmail may have gone off line while they try to deal with it.
If I was less tired I would include a rant about how it's funny that it's always the Microsoft products that have virus problems, but fortunately you'll be spared that.
I will bring the video tomorrow but I miscalculated, I was actually off today (which I spent with morgan99, hurrah).
The virus I got from her is BugBear, and my copy of McAfee killed it as soon as it arrived, so I don't think it's that new. There's an information page about it here, and you can download a nice little removal tool for it here.
We did get a copy of that sent to our Outlook account. I deleted it cos we weren't expecting to be sent an attachment and it arrived at the wrong address anyway. But given how Outlook works I'm going to run a full scan just in case.
